I AM AN ALCOHOLIC
My life has been messed, for sure! My choices were not good.
I once was blind, but now I see, The future as I should.
My family has suffered much, I realize the harm.
It devastated, brought them low, I even broke her arm.
Embarrassed by my angry voice, It terrorized each one.
My actions based on my own choice, wife, daughter or my son.
With those I worked, I tried to fake, I thought they did not know.
But soon my work, lost time to make, I was my greatest foe.
I promised to amend my life, I promised more than once.
It only brought my family strife, I nearly lost my life.
If it had not been for their love, They intervened with care.
God sent to me His heavenly dove, My loved ones, truly rare.
Through tears and prayers and great support, Without them I would fall.
I give account, lest I abort, A struggle for us all.
It is by grace that God has given, Our home has peace, at last!
Our God has blessed, I’ve been forgiven, Through Him those days are past.
Praise God, He changed the lack of wine, At Cana’s wedding feast.
I am a branch, He is the vine; Praise God, He loves the least.
