LORD, LAY SOME SOUL UPON MY HEART
Lord, lay some soul upon my heart, And love that soul through me.
And may I gladly do my part, To win that soul for Thee.
Lord, teach me how to pray with tears, To name men one by one.
And may my Lord remove my fears, the throne of God to come.
Lord, grant to me a vision clear, Of souls lost deep in sins.
Whose lives eternal are so dear, I’ll sacrifice to win.
Lord, thou art not ashamed of me, Unworthy though I am.
May I not be ashamed Thee, Since Thou art God’s own Lamb.
The sacrifice which Thou didst make, Secured with God my peace.
Now may my grateful heart awake, to love that will not cease.
Move me to see how pagans bow, As seen by Thine own view.
The fields are ripe for harvest now, the laborers are few.
Oh, praise the Father, Spirit, Son, The Holy Trinity.
With all the souls which have been won, I’ll bring my thanks to Thee.
