The Big “C”
Yes, our life was routine, work and leisure so plain, we thought not unusual of it.
Then one day it all changed, now, not one thing the same, It felt like a boulder had hit.
Still our faith in our Lord grows each day,
He has promised to walk in our way.
Open wounds with sharp thorns on His head,
He has suffered and died in our stead.
We were told, could not hear, It was happ’ning to us. We dreaded that word with a “C.” Yet our voice it was strong,
through moist eyes filled with tears, Each prayer now was on bended knee. Refrain
We have heard it too much, to say CANCER as such, We never erase from our mind. Once with hesitant voice,
with strong courage renewed, Our family and friends they do bind.
For our friends who are healed, for them answer has come, Their life for each day ‘mong the blest. For loved ones we have known,
did not fare near so well. In glory their souls are at rest. Refrain
The Big “C” fades away, is no longer first place, Instead, came a heavenly dove.
There is still a Big “C” but it only must be. It stands for “C” hrist Jesus, His love. Refrain
