UPLIFT and UPHOLD
This nation, the forest, the county, the city;
The ocean, the river, the sky and the sea.
The airways and highways, The lanes and the byways;
All tell us the great story, Our land to see.
The sick and the poor ones, the aged and the frightened;
Our life’s pace a-growing at rapid, great speeds.
We offer to them how, A peace that transcends now;
A Savior and a God Who meets all their needs.
Neglect not the man with a pigment that’s different;
A face that’s distorted, a mind that is tense.
A background of trouble, A household of rubble;
For they are all God’s people, A populace that’s dense.
Uplift and uphold them, support and pray for them;
A message of love may they read from your life.
To give as was given, To bless as from heaven;
With God’s redeeming Son, As Savior from strife.
